Lochinvar Safaris recommends you bring a minimum caliber of a 7MM Remington Magnum, to hunt all the species in New Zealand. Shots can range between 100 to 300 yards. There is no difficulty in bringing your own rifles to New Zealand , providing that they are sporting firearms (no military rifles or handguns are permitted). A Firearms License and Import permit are obtained online here.

We do have a variety of sporting firearms for clients to use. Please contact us for the list. The only charge for the use of them is for the ammunition used which is expensive in New Zealand.
